This month we found the story where the Royal Highlanders, a name the image of costumes, pageantry, and fun that we read about then, to a functional, staid, and yes, boring insurance company that it seems to have become.

Thank you for the follow-up article on the Royal Highlanders. Checked google for what year The Royal Highlanders became Lincoln Mutual Life Insurance Company as the article didn't show the year. It was 1946.
My Great Grandfather John H. Tower was a Sutton Clansman who gave a toast in April 1898 at the"Grand Banquet" initiating Sutton's #11 Dundee Castle of the Royal Highlanders. I found it very interesting that a Clansman Hanke also gave a toast at this 1898 banquet and that in the 1946 article of the Highlanders becoming Lincoln Mutual Life Insurance Company that there is a Hanke on the Board of Directors.
