The September 6, 1895 issue of The Sutton News carried this article which identifies the 85 people who joined the M.E. church in Sutton during the pastorate of Rev. Royse over the prior three years.
The article states that there were 75 members in the church prior to Rev. Royse's arrival. The names of Gray, Clark, Carney, Schwab, and others should be recognized by anyone familiar with early Sutton history.
