H. H. Johnson in Clay Center was not the only county businessman in the poultry and incubator business. Sutton's Emil Ochsner had his own factory which he called the Poultry leader.
There is also some evidence that there was a similar Fairfield concern,.
The Sutton News considered Mr. Ochsner's business to be a fine client.

Emil Ochsner was my grandfather. My mom, Helen Ochsner Maser, said when she was a child she always had her picture taken with a chicken as they were used for advertisement.
Emil Ochsner was my grandfather also, and this picture of him looks just like my brother, Joel.
I remember having one of the incubators in a box underneath the basement stairs but I don’t know what happened to it after my parents died and we cleaned out the house. I do remember my father, Milton Emil, telling me stories about his father and the incubator business.
