Was this in the laundromat on south side????

Anonymous... No. This was an outdoor rink, in 1943. It was south of the depot. O. K., where was the depot? It as on the south side of the Burlington tracks about 50 or so yards west of Saunders Avenue. The article references the Grosshans Bros. lots. There was a Grosshans grain elevator (but I thought that was the one east of the street on the south side of the tracks - could be wrong) Whatever the case, these or another set of Grosshans brothers may have owned lots around the depot.

The operation in the laundromat location would have come later. Know when?
